I am the head of the Health and P.E. Department in a very rural and economically challenged area of eastern North Carolina. We have 56% free lunch and 8% ESL students. Living in a rural area inhibits the activities that our students are able to do outside of school. With our youth becoming overweight at a very early age, I would like to introduce a Yoga and Pilate's program into our current Health and P.E. Curriculum. The students would be introduced to a new and more exciting area of physical fitness and with the current popularity of Yoga and Pilate's the students would be more modivated. Through this new style of exercise they will be more modivated and have fun while inproving their physical condition. I would like to request Yoga and a Pilate's tapes/DVDs to use in my classes.
