This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My Kindergarten through 2nd-grade students are curious, energetic, and eager to learn. They come from diverse backgrounds and bring a variety of strengths to our school community. At this age, they are just beginning to develop the stamina for complex tasks and are learning how to collaborate with their peers. They thrive when given the chance to learn through play and tactile exploration.

In a world of screens, my students need opportunities to slow down, focus, and work with their hands.

Currently, our library lacks a variety of engaging, age-appropriate puzzles. While we have plenty of books, we need more 'brain-teasing' tools that help bridge the gap between play and critical thinking. Without these resources, it’s difficult to provide the structured, collaborative problem-solving practice that young learners need to develop spatial awareness and persistence.
