My Students
My class is a 1st grade ASD classroom. I am a first year teacher and am starting out with nothing! ASD students truly benefit from sensory objects and different type of learning tools than general education students. I want to transform my classroom into a room that makes these students feel safe and ready to learn. I have big plans for these kiddos and can not wait to get started! Please help me help my kiddos learn and get ready for 2nd grade!
My Project
Being a visual learner can be difficult if there aren't images and things to see while learning something new. I want to provide learning through photos so my kids can always see what they are learning or have learned. I want to load my classroom with photos of my children doing various activities. I even want to post pictures of my kiddos following the rules and hang them next to the class rules. Some children with autism do not know how to play appropriately. I want to post photos of the kids appropriately playing in my dramatic play area to help. So many visuals have tons of words, but most of my students can not read yet and I believe seeing themselves or their classmates instead of words will help with frustration levels.
I am blessed to have an amazing class, help me let them see how amazing they truly are!
