Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work at at Title I School in Atlanta, Ga. where most of my students receive free/reduced lunch. My students love to play, dance, and do all kinds of engaging activities that involve reading. There are so many precious moments that can be captured with students in this age group. Many times when I see the parents I tell them about their child's development, but it would be more memorable for them to see if themselves. In our Pre- K class many students speak English as a second language. We use a lot of pictures and visual aids to help introduce them to reading. I would like to purchase a photo printer in order to share some of these memories with students and their parents. We would like to purchase a photo printer in order to capture these moments and send them home with students to share with their families and post through out our classroom.
My Project
A photo printer will be great for our class. We can use it for so many different things like picture graphs, and things in our environment. In our class we learn through play and so many memories can be captured. We also use pictures as a secondary way of reading since most of my students speak English as a second language.
We can post pictures all over our class as labels to help find different things inside the classroom.
If we do not know the word or the location of something in our class we can use pictures to help us.
