Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are curious, creative, and committed. They take many opportunities to learn new things, such as coding and sewing. They enjoy various forms of art, including 90s hip hop and metalworking. They represent many different future interests - from auto mechanics and real estate to doctors. They are dedicated to their friends and communities. Art and garden classes are two spaces where they are able to reguarly tap into their diverse skills.

Carts will help students move materials around, instead of lugging tools and paint outdoors, and then back indoors.

Students in all classes, but especially the art and gardening class, spend time outdoors working. Students painted the picnic tables, stepping stones, and garden gnomes. Studnents helped with weeding, debris clean-up, and planting. Carts will make transporting tools and materials much easier, set-up and clean-up will be completed faster, providing more time for actual art and gardening.
