This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students have a thirst for learning! Every day they are eager to absorb every ounce of learning that is being thrown their way.

Every child in this classroom is unique in their own way...which makes teaching them even more exciting.

We all come from different backgrounds and tell a different story, but at the end of the day they all come here for the same reason: to be taught and to be loved. I grow to love each one of these children and my end goal is to teach them to love learning.

My Project

My students love to read, and to be read to! These new picture books would enhance our reading instruction and let students dive deeper into different reading strategies while being exposed to many different genres, cultural traditions, and writing styles. Each of these books open doors for my students to travel to places they’ve never been, experience life in ways the may never have the chance to, and to fall in love with a new character and story plot each week. These books not only let us explore literacy skills, but also allow for deeper grammar instruction, and daily writing practice.
