More than a third of students from low‑income households
$0 still needed
Our students need to see visual evidence of the projects and experiences of their PreK classroom. Therefore, we are requesting three digital cameras to use for our team of three teachers.
PICTURE THIS: 90 four year old children in 3 classroom settings. We teach in the NYS Universal PreKindergarten program; working with children and their families to develop a positive connection between home and school.
Young children are visual, hands-on learners;
we need digital cameras to supplement and enhance our curriculum. We begin our year with a home visit; we need to photograph children in their home setting, with their families to display in the school classroom.
We are requesting 3 digital cameras to supply 3 classroom teachers with an easy accessible tool to use. This will enable us to photograph children during the classroom day, using photos as:
* home-school connectors
* games and learning activities
* a learning tool for sign language
* language and literacy supplement
* making books of "real life" activities
* step by step instructions sequencing events
(IE: recipes, building structures, how
to wash hands, paint at the easel etc.)
Your donation of digital cameras will help us to enrich and enhance the curriculum we offer our PreKindergarten children
*Children excited about sharing pictures of their family and friends.
*Children being able to share a school experience or block building through a photograph they can take home.
*Children following visual cues to help them perform independently.
*Children making connections between sign-language photo and corresponding word.
