Bored to tears with worksheets! My struggling reading students need interesting reading that they can relate to and critique for reading intervention.
My students are in grades 3-5 and struggle with reading.
They are struggling readers and reluctant readers. Most of my students are from low-income families and have struggled with reading since first grade. Many of my students do not have reading stamina and dislike reading after struggling so long. They are unwilling to take a chance with longer picture books or short novels.
My Project
My students act out and get bored with scripted worksheet programs. I want to entice my students to read with picture books and transitional novels to show them how reading can be entertaining - while still covering reading intervention strategies! This will help to build their reading stamina and allow them to see that they CAN read the longer books and read novels.
Your donation will make a difference by helping me purchase sets of multiple copies of picture books and transitional novels.
Help me build up my students' reading stamina. Help me show them that they CAN read longer books! Help me entice my students into enjoying reading!
