Picture This: Documenting Creativity Through Digital Art Portfolios
Help me give my students the opportunity to become proud documentarians of their work! With these digital cameras, students will become photographers, photograph their art, reflect on their progress, and build digital portfolios they can share with families.

My Project
As an elementary art teacher, I’m continually inspired by the creativity and growth my students show from one project to the next. Giving them the opportunity to step into the role of photographer as part of their art experience would add a powerful new layer to their learning. Too often, that growth gets lost when artwork goes home or is tucked away in a folder. That’s why I want to help my students preserve and celebrate their creative journey through digital documentation.
This project blends visual art with photography, digital literacy, and self-reflection.
For younger students, it encourages ownership and pride in their work. For older students, it becomes a powerful tool for self-expression and prepares them for future academic and creative opportunities.
We’ll use accessible tools like built-in cameras, Google Slides, and Seesaw to compile images and reflections. Even a small number of dedicated devices can have a big impact during art rotations, helping students capture their growth and creativity one photo at a time.
