I teach in an amazingly colorful Title I school. We are located in Bronx, NY. My school has a very large, diverse population with over 50 languages spoken in the district.
Students at our school are known for thinking critically, learning to communicate effectively, and learn how to be independent thinkers and learners.
My hope for my class is give them opportunities and help them to realize that they can achieve anything they set their minds to and work hard.
My Project
Flexible seating is a must in today's classrooms. It has been proven to exemplify student learning and focus. With a new classroom this year, that always means a new way to create a fun learning environment! Having the ability to have choices around the room for learning and being active promotes brain activity and also lets the student be in charge of their learning experience.
Students will use flexible seating in my classroom to work at their best ability while staying engaged and having fun!
I chose a new library rug, stability balls, raised stools and fun pillows so that my students will have options available to them when it comes to working independently!
This seating will help every child in my room to be successful and engaged daily.
Group work will be easier and this seating will promote that imaginative thinking and excitement for learning.
My students would greatly benefit from this project!
