My classroom is made up of caring, creative, and eager learners. It is rich in diversity with exceptional learners and English language learners. My students strive and persevere each day to meet and exceed the standards introduced and taught to them. The English language learners are crossing the language barrier to reach these same goals and my exceptional learners continue to crave greater knowledge with a desire to apply these skills in more unique and challenging ways. Your help and support will reach and touch all of my students in my classroom.
My Project
The funding of this grant will provide our classroom with a 4X6 photo printer. I am requesting this resource for three ongoing tasks and activities that we complete in our classroom weekly. I would like for my students to be able to print out their self photos for their Author's Page to attach to the stories they write and display in class. My students also participate in making an individual scrapbook for the school year documenting each culminating activity, field trip, or holiday. Students will be able to add color prints from these activities to their scrapbooks.
The ideas and use for this resource are endless and will encourage the creativity of my students.
I am most excited to incorporate this resource in with our STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) instruction and engaging activities. My students often work in small groups to investigate and engineer solutions to problems. After well-thought planning, students put their ideas into action constructing models and solutions to multi-discipline problems. This printer will allow my students to instantly print pictures of their models and designs to place on display and share with other students in our classroom and within our school. This will excite and motivate students to implement greater critical thinking skills for design and execution.
