Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Despite living in a low-income/high poverty area, my kiddos still deserve the best technology and resources the world has to offer!
I want my students to know that they have what they need, when they need it, to help them learn and grow!
My students are the future of the world, and I want to impact their future by ensuring they have the tools they need to be successful. I can't express to you in a limited number of characters how wonderful and deserving each one of my learners are.
My Project
My students need a sense of community at school. This snazzy instant camera will aid us in building a class family by allowing us to create a photo display based on the book, "The Best Part of Me". We will also be able to select a "Student of the Week" as a class, and hang our pictures on our class photo board. This year, we are working toward being one unit, and I know photos will help us show our unity to everyone else.
What do you remember most about school?
Chances are, you are going to say your friends! Don't you wish you had more photos of you and them together? With the Fujifilm camera, film, and extras, my students will have real-time photos of what's happening around us, that they can keep forever!
This project will help my learners document themselves (especially at special events!), their learning, and focus on what makes our class so unique: our differences. I want my students to learn to appreciate and love the differences of their classmates. We will use these photos to hang in our classroom and hall space, to create a deeper sense of a home away from home.
