This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
The students I serve have a wide range of interests. They desire constant attention and possess the need to feel special. I am amazed by the improvement in class participation when they are given positive reinforcements. When their outlook is transformed from the negative to positive, academic performance increases. Also, when they receive encouragement it builds their social confidence. I have found that students are more capable beyond what they imagine.
The implementation of proper supports, inspiration and motivation gives feet to their dreams.
In my course I want students to become confident in who they are. I want them to overcome fear and anxiety within themselves. I feel that self confidence leads to academic success. It alleviates the desire to just fade into the background and helps students stand out. They can be fearless of asking questions to gain wisdom and understanding of concepts presented.
My Project
The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students will create a positive learning environment, overcoming financial barriers. Many of my students lack the basic tools necessary for putting together successful models of abstract scientific concepts used in the classroom. We just need your help in getting basic needs. The paper, staplers, markers, and other supplies of the sort will be used by the students, so that they may create. The organizational baskets will be placed in the back of our classroom and will structure and organization skills. The printer will create positive pictures of the students working collaboratively to accomplish goals. Team work will be displayed in photos around the room. The posters will serve as inspiration when they begin to daydream to stay focused on success.
