Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
What I love about my kindergartners is that they are always excited and eager to learn. I teach in a low-income, Title I district. These students come from different economic and supportive backgrounds.
When they enter my classroom, they are entering their second home.
Our class is a family, united to face our learning endeavors together and to help each other learn along the way, leaving no child behind. Kindergarten is fun! It is meant to be an exciting time where students are exploring the world around them through the content areas.
My Project
With a camera we can take pictures of holiday parties, special celebrations, birthdays, field trips and life in the kinder classroom. With a camera we are also able to take pictures of people, places and things to put in our science, literacy and math centers to help our beginning readers match words with pictures.
As I take pictures all year long I will save them to create a special memory book for each child.
At the end of the year I also make a slide show of our pictures for our Kindergarten graduation. The slide show is one of the kids' favorite things!
