it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The number of English as a Second Language (ESL) students in our schools has increased significantly in recent years. These students face unique challenges being English language learners, as they often struggle with understanding vocabulary in context. Traditional language instruction relies heavily on text-based materials, which can be daunting and ineffective for visual learners or beginners. A visual aid such as a picture dictionary can bridge this gap by providing a more accessible, engaging, and context-rich method of learning English vocabulary.
This project will directly benefit ESL students ranging from beginner to intermediate proficiency levels.
It will also support teachers by providing them with a versatile teaching tool that accommodates different learning styles. In particular, students who have limited exposure to English in their home environments or who are visual learners will gain the most from this resource.
A picture dictionary will be an invaluable asset for ESL students, empowering them with the tools needed to learn English more effectively and confidently. With your support, we can help close the language gap and promote academic and personal success for these students.
