My Project

I teach at a school where English is not the native language of most of my students. So even though I'm working with creative and enthusiastic ten year olds, some of them are still struggling to read in English. So having books available with pictures is a priority. I've made it a point to fill my library with culturally inclusive books so that every student in my class can see themselves and their heritage in a picture book on the shelf.

Now I want to share the picture books I fell in love with as a student, with my students.

I can't wait to plan read-alouds, lesson plans, and art projects surrounding these books that brought me so much joy at their age, and still bring me joy as a teacher.
