These books will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create and allow me to continue to have more enriching picture books available to read aloud to my students. I read a picture book to my students every day, sometimes multiple times a day. It would be helpful to have more available in my classroom library for me and my students to access.
No kid is too old to enjoy the wonder a picture book has to offer.
My students love to get cozy on the carpet and hear and look at a new book. Some of the best classroom discussions happen after we share a picture book in an upper elementary classroom.
The books in this project will be used in a variety of ways. Picture books can be great tools to teach social emotional skills and to aid in tough discussions and topics. Picture books are helpful in writing and reading lessons as high quality mentor texts. The possibilities are endless with GREAT picture books!
