This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I love to see the passion our students have for reading! These 20 books are on the Top 20 List for the 2023 Georgia Children's Picturebook Award. Our kindergarten through third grade students will read these picture books, practice answering questions, and compete in a district-wide competition.

The students on our picture book reading bowl team have a passion for reading and treasure the books they get to read!

They get to know the characters in the books they read. They work on reading comprehension skills and strategies like identifying the main idea and key details, sequencing, and retelling the story.
