There is a proverb that says, "Do not confine your children to your own learning, for they were born in another time." Our children were born in the age of technology. I want to use technology in my classroom to prepare my students to be successful in this digital age. My students are more engaged when given twenty-first century activities that also connect to their personal lives. Having tablets in my classroom would allow students to learn in a way in which they are comfortable and engaged. During independent work times, my students should have a variety of learning opportunities. Currently, all of our small group activities in Math and Reading are with books, paper, and pencil, or our classroom laptops. The products I have selected will give my students additional opportunities to independently learn and practice skills. Using tablets will help motivate them to be engaged and stay on task!
