My Project

As a school counselor, I see firsthand how important social connection, fresh air, and positive school experiences are for students’ emotional well-being and success. Our students would greatly benefit from having outdoor lunch tables where they can safely gather, build friendships, and enjoy a more relaxing lunch environment.

We are seeking outdoor picnic-style lunch tables to create a welcoming space for students during lunch, small group activities, mentoring sessions, and school events.

Many of our students spend most of their day indoors, and providing an outdoor seating area would give them a much-needed opportunity to recharge, connect with peers, and strengthen their sense of belonging at school.

Research consistently shows that positive social spaces improve student behavior, engagement, and mental wellness. Something as simple as outdoor seating can make a meaningful impact on school climate and student happiness.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
