My Project

My students love reading the Volunteer State Book Award nominees every school year. They read from Tennessee's 20 titles selected for that school year. Our students usually read them all.

Please give our students a voice as they vote for their favorite book for the state of Tennessee.

This year students voted for the best book and the winner was Penelope Rex - We Don't Lose Our Class Goldfish by Ryan T. Higgins. I can't wait to see what book wins first place in 2025 - 2026. Help us add these librarian selected best of the best books to our library collection so that students can begin reading in August 2025. After all, when a student reads a good book like the mouse that wants a cookie they are bound to want to read another. These books are gateways into deeper and more reading.
