I love teaching 4th grade because students this age are eager to learn and have a great sense of humor. I find that students this age really want to be independent in their learning, yet still appreciate structure and support that challenges and encourages them.
One of my students' favorite things about my classroom are the preferred flexible seating options that are provided.
They enjoy the collaborative learning opportunities that flexible seating allows and being able to learn in a comfortable setting.
My Project
I have started this project because I want to increase the flexible seating options offered to my students. I want my students to have a variety of seating options that allow them comfort and the ability to get their wiggles out as they work. Flexible seating allows students to pick a seating option that best helps them learn.
While all students in class my are given the opportunity to benefit from flexible seating options, students that struggle to focus in class and those that are hyperactive greatly benefit from seating options like these inflatable donut balls that allow some movement as they work.
I am specifically creating this Donors Choose project with those students in mind.
