My students need flexible seating options such as wobble chairs, wobble cushions, and stability balls in our classroom. These items will help the students remain engaged in lessons while having their individual needs met.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Although I haven't met my students yet, as a first year teacher I can't wait to welcome the 3rd graders into my room with open arms. I work in a low-income 3rd grade classroom, and I would LOVE to be able to give my students everything they deserve and MORE. My students come from diverse backgrounds, however, more than half our school population is receiving free or reduced-price lunch. As a teacher at a high poverty school, a lot of my students face difficult challenges out of the classroom, so I want them to have a safe/fun space they can count on while at school.
My Project
The principle goal for all students is to achieve their own highest level of success in a supportive classroom. As a teacher of diverse learners, my personal goal is to ensure that every students’ individual needs are met, which will lead to high achievement. Through funding this project, my students will be able to enter a classroom where they have a VOICE and get to make a CHOICE in how they learn.
Flexible seating options have proven to enhance student focus, improve participation and behavior, and achieve higher academic success.
By having flexible seating options, students are encouraged to make decisions that benefit their learning style the most. With the requested materials the students will be able to choose which seating option will make them comfortable, engaged, and ready to learn.
