This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Last school year, I started a piano playing unit with my 3rd and 4th grade classes using the small keyboards I received from a past DonorsChoose project and WOW! What a success it was! My students effectively learned the piano key names, how to read notes on the staff, proper hand placement, and played along with YouTube piano videos.
The students loved learning the piano so much, we spent a solid month of classes on the unit.
When I moved on to another unit, the students were so disappointed. Unfortunately, due to the fact that I did not have a full class set of keyboards, several students had to share with a partner.
So this is where you come in. Please help me provide a full class set. I currently have 23 keyboards, but my school has classes of 30+ students. Therefore, 7 more keyboards should do the trick.
Lastly, the parachute is for my pk-1st grade classes. There are so many songs that go with a parachute activity and just about every adult I know remembers the joy of parachute day in elementary school.
