My students need group method books to use with our keyboard lab.
FULLY FUNDED! Mr. Wamser's classroom raised $1,549
This project is fully funded
I am the music teacher at an urban elementary school in the Midwest. Most of the students who attend my school are refugees, immigrants, or the children of refugees and immigrants.
Music is a universal language. Our students begin learning to play instruments in preschool with drums and more involved instruments as they progress. We are blessed with a keyboard lab, but lack proper method books to take full advantage.
If every student in grades 4 and 5 could have a method book to use they could practice their lessons outside of the classroom. We currently use lessons designed and produced by the teacher but the cost is high.
Your generosity will allow these students to truly appreciate that America IS the Land of Opportunity. No teaching strategy has proved to be more effective that participation in an instrumental music program. Instrumental music improves reading, math, and science scores. It helps with attendance and morale. I hope you will be 'instrumental' in helping my students achieve their potential by providing them with first-quality instructional materials.
