Piano Lab

My Project

One of the units that our students treasure most at WIS is piano. In a building of 700 students (5th and 6th grade), more than 1/3 of those students enroll in band or chorus, but all students are given access to music. As a department, we strive to provide students with as many opportunities as possible and proudly utilize one of our classrooms as a piano lab. Many of our kids have found a skill they can achieve instant success on, or utilized piano as a pathway to band or chorus, after learning in our classes. Our students with the highest needs also appreciate the accessibility of piano and frequently show growth as young musicians when given access to a piano!

Some of our keyboards are broken due to accidental misuse, years of wear and tear, and other challenges- so we need replacements.

The pianos and power cords we are requesting are to replace old and broken pianos and to accommodate growing class sizes. We want to keep piano as part of our curriculum for ALL students, and we can't do it without enough keyboards for our class! Please help us put our piano lab back together!
