Help me give my students a STEM experience in Physics by building and designing battery kits. My students attend a Title 1 school. These kits will enrich my students' learning by giving them hands-on experience.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
I teach at a Title 1 School in GA. My students will use the battery kits to learn about circuits, voltage, and ammeters by building and designing batteries.
My goal for my Physics students is to learn science by doing science.
I encourage my students to engage in science learning by asking questions, designing investigations, and collecting data. This approach to learning requires my students to think critically and collaborate with their peers. These skills are necessary for my students to become successful adults.
My students love to participate in hands-on learning and science investigations. Using this approach to teaching has helped increase my student's assessment scores. Students who normally do not like science end up loving science by the end of the school year.
