My students need scientific calculators in order to perform the mathematics necessary to solve difficult problems in physical science.
FULLY FUNDED! Mr. Diamond's classroom raised $375
This project is fully funded
My Students
The students in my classes are highly motivated "inner-city" students from low-income families. All receive free meals. These students go the extra mile and have a great regard for their education. All show learning gains when exposed to a curriculum which is presented using a hands-on teaching/learning style.
The students are very inquisitive and they love to ask questions.
Instead of just giving them the answers, many times they will design an experiment which will reveal the answers they seek.
My Project
Many times, students come to high school science without the proper tools necessary to ensure their success. The socio-economic level of my students prevents many of them from owning any kind of calculator. Some students may already have standard calculators, but these devises are not well suited for scientific use since they lack the functions and exponents required to grasp difficult concepts.
The TI-30Xa calculators have all the features and functions my students will need to completely understand and perform intense scientific calculations.
It is easy to use, which will lead them to a better understanding of difficult physical science applications.
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
