Physical Fitness Needs Fiscal Fitness!

Help me give my students two Olympic Weight Sets so that I can teach my classes the proper mechanics of weight training while promoting lifelong physical fitness.

My Students

The mission of our district is to prepare each student to be a successful and responsible member of society. Our students have clearly responded to that mission.

The students have embodied the ideals of the community showcasing caring and acceptance; they support one another regardless of differences and varying abilities.

In conjunction with the Special Olympics, students have led initiatives, such as Unified Sports, Spread the Word to End the Word, and Be the "i" in Kind. The community has also participated in Rachel's Challenge and our schools have created Chain Reactions of Kindness.

If our kids are our future, then our future will be a positive, caring and warm place to be. I am truly proud of our students and this school system and the outlook on student success prompted my wife and me to move to this town and raise our family here so that our children can experience what it is like to be a part of this community of students.

My Project

Our Physical Education Department has spent the last two years revitalizing our fitness facilities for high school and middle school use. With the help of department led grant funding and donations from local organizations, we have pooled resources to purchase high quality used equipment to install a fitness center that both the high school (Grades 9-12) and middle school (Grades 5-8) can utilize. A wall was knocked down between two closets to create a space for our new weight room and we installed a rubber floor. Next, we will move in our equipment.

The last thing that is missing is weight plates for our machines.

With these weight plates, we will be able to provide students with varying abilities safe ways to become fit, using proper form and techniques. Thank you for considering this donation!
