Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My wonderful students are in great need of Physical Education equipment such as a parachute and soccer balls.
My students with special needs are eager to come to Physical Education.
I teach Pre-K to 5th grade students. They learn important skills that will help them lead healthy and active lives. It can be basic loco-motor skills or giving the ability to play team sports to children who might not be able to do it in a regular classroom setting. I like to provide them with the proper equipment that will help them be successful.Your help will be greatly appreciated!
My school is located in the Panorama City, in the state of California; most of the students come from low income homes.
Many of them have experienced trauma in their lives and have difficulty coming to school. Our classes serve students with a range of disabilities, including intellectual disabilities, emotional disturbance, autism spectrum disorder and specific learning disabilities.
My Project
My students are in need of physical education equipment (parachute, and soccer balls). Building sportsmanship for any student is extremely important, however; for my students with special needs it is crucial to be provided with a variety of equipment which will help them develop their gross motor skills as well as to provide an environment where they have the opportunity to socialize.
My students come from a low social economical background.
The majority of the students qualify for free and reduced meals. Many of the students do not have access to enriching experiences and materials. Such as sports equipment, books, basic school supplies, art material, or participation in team sports.
My students are motivated to participate in physical education activities!
It is my desire to provide them with as many experiences as possible, however, there are times that I need additional physical education equipment to keep them engaged and motivated to participate.
Physical Education is an important part of our curriculum and the children look forward to their weekly P.E. session. However, teachers are provided with minimal equipment, I would like to offer a wide range of activates. In order for that to occur my students need a variety of equipment for their learning and participation!
My students need equipment in order for P.E. to be successful and fun. They love to be outside exercising in different ways!
Physical Education provides my students with an opportunity to work on their gross motor skills while learning good sportsman-like behavior.
Having equipment such as a parachute and balls, will allow them to participate in activities while they continue to develop their social skills, such as working together in partners or teams, following rules, and showing good sportsman-like conduct.
