Physical Adventures

My students need a membership in Adventure to Fitness as well as indoor recess equipment and materials.

My Students

A strong body makes the mind strong. (Thomas Jefferson) I want to encourage my students to exercise daily.

My 20-22 students are a very diverse group of great second graders in Georgia.

Some of my students have special needs, and most of my students qualify for free or reduced price lunch. Several of my students are diagnosed with ADHA and ADD. But, they are all wonderful and so eager to learn. We work in various settings through out the day like whole group, small group and independent work. Our school is an inner city school and in a high poverty area.

My Project

The Adventure to Fitness membership will provide daily activities of movement, running and core work as well as nutrition lessons for my students to use for indoor recess. Along with physical health, Adventures in Fitness incorporates science and social studies standards which will reenforce the standards taught in those subjects. The Adventures to Fitness program is a favorite of my students. My students continually ask to use Adventure in Fitness.

Adventure in Fitness can be student directed program that provides for a 60 minute health and fitness lesson.

My active students need this outlet for their energy which will provide for their physical health while supporting health, science and social studies standards.

Your donations will help my students begin a healthier and more active lifestyle. My students will be encouraged to make better healthier choices in foods, water consumption, exercise and sugary snacks.
