We are a small, Alternative second chance program that serves at-risk, predominantly economically disadvantaged inner-city high school students. Because of space limitations, we have never had a gym. This being said, as the Director of the school, I am impressed with my students and teachers on a daily basis. They do incredible work, which I think might be greatly improved, if what the research says is correct: namely, that physical activity helps adolescents to learn. Therefore, I am looking for someone willing to donate a ping pong table and foosball table for our multi-purpose room/cafeteria. In addition to having a physical outlet and a fun experience, this might also help more students take advantage of the free lunch being offered, rather than spending money they don't have on overpriced food in the neighboring delis and restaurants. I'm hoping this will benefit all of our school's 200 + students. Thank you.
