This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have got some outstanding students with a desire to learn photography. These 7th and 8th graders are currently enrolled in a charter school located in Dallas Tx. These students have displayed a need to express themselves in a positive manner and I feel that photography is definitely one way these kids can do that.

Many of these students do without, but continue to come to school day after day with a positive attitude and a desire to learn.

These student are always looking for a way to express themselves in a positive manner. I hope I can give that to them.

My Project

I will be starting a photography program from scratch. It is going to be a digital program. I will need some printers, scanners and digital cameras to get the students going. I am already using lots of my own personal equipment, such as, backdrops, strobes, computers, and cameras. I am hoping that many of these students will have access to some sort of a camera, but it is highly unlikely that all families will have that. We are going to do some projects with the scanners as a way of capturing materials, textures, and shapes that we can edit in photoshop.
