Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My name is Lisa Bennett and I teach Th grade Science to 100 students. They are majority low-income and Hispanic. They are eager to learn but come to me with very few authentic experiences when it comes to Science. I work very hard to provide them with fun, exciting Science experiments both inside and outside. The students are required to take a state test in Science in Th grade. One of the things they are required to do is use different tools to record data in their Science journal. One of the required tools is a camera. I would like to purchase digital cameras and memory cards so that the students may record their observations with the camera, then print out the pictures and put them in their Science journals. My students will benefit greatly from this experience, along with students in coming years. Most of my students have never had the chance to use a camera, let alone a digital one. Besides giving them the tools they need to record data for science, it will also provide them with needed technology experiences. Thank you for your time and consideration.
