Mr. C. from IN is requesting technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
A digital camera is needed to post action photos of students and to use visual pictures for demonstration and instructional purposes on a new physical education blog site for the elementary school.

For the first time my elementary school will have its own physical education Internet blog site where students and their families will be able to see, hear, and read about the events happening inside their school's pe. program while being able to share and connect with each other by leaving comments and feedback regarding recent class activities, health news, fitness tips, etc. As the physical education teacher who will oversee the blog, I look forward to creating an avenue of communication that is fluid and ongoing in the areas of fitness and health for our school community of more than 700 students.
In the state of Indiana where my elementary school is located the declining fitness levels of school-aged children is a critical concern. One of the goals of the new physical education blog is to increase students' interest in daily exercise and fitness. Giving kids and their families an interactive way to see and read about the hard work and fun stuff that actually happens in physical education class helps put the subjects of fitness and health at the forefront of students' minds and their conversations when talking with friends and family members.
I am asking for the generous donation of one digital camera to be used for taking photos of students, teachers, and staff members participating in physical education classes and/or physical education events related to our school. These photos will be posted on the daily pe. web blog for the purpose of enhancing student and family interest in visiting the blog and interacting with others once inside, highlighting and recognizing special achievements by students and/or classes, and using visual pictures for demonstration and instructional purposes.
Your help as a donor will make it possible for my students to have both a colorful and informational inducement for participating in physical education classes and to visit the web blog on a regular basis. Kids love to see pictures of themselves and they remember well through visual prompting. As an individual who exercises at a gym that has its own fitness blog site, I can tell you how I enjoy reading the comments of others about a recent workout and looking to see if an action shot of me exercising was posted on the website. I'm sure my students would find that same fun and excitement reading feedback from other students and looking for their action photo on the screen.
