Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The students in my class come from various backgrounds, but all share the special commonality of being Deaf/Hard of Hearing. These students have special communication needs and use American Sign Language as their primary mode of communication.

My students have planned an evening to celebrate American Sign Language with their friends, family, and the Deaf community.

They have spent multiple weeks reaching out to community resources to come and present what accommodations are available to the Deaf community, and options for themselves and others when they graduate from high school, and connecting with families across the city to help support other Deaf/Hard of Hearing individuals.

This photo booth would be a great way to have my students walk away from the evening with a token of their success that they could keep for years to come, to look back on with pride of their accomplishments.
