Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Help us take a stand and stick to learning! We would like a magnetic dry erase chart stand to help us learn. We make and use lots of charts and visuals need a new easel. We also use magnetic letters to help us learn spelling patterns. Our focus will be Phonics, Reading, and Writing!
I am a Special Education Teacher in an inner city, high need school working with first through fourth grade students.
My students range in abilities, but they are an awesome group who are very excited about school and eager to learn. They work best when they are highly engaged and interacting in the lesson. My students have special needs including learning disabilities, Autism, ADHD, and communication impairments. These students face challenges everyday learning and communicating. These supplies will ensure my students become successful learners.
My Project
This chart stand will be used for many literacy activities. We will use it to anchor charts to be displayed in the classroom throughout the year particularly during center time for small group instruction. It will also be used as an interactive center location for students to practice writing or use magnetic letters. It is so important to have a variety of activities that expose our students to literacy activities. Many of my students come from homes where they do not even have books to read. I want to have as many resources as I can for them in my classroom so they get the maximum exposure to literacy that they so need.
Your help will provide me with the supplies to continue to teach critical strategies and literacy skills.
The crucial skills that will be acquired will directly impact the success of my students this year and will build important academic skills that will last a lifetime. My goal is to present language arts and literacy based activities through a variety of modalities in interactive, hands-on settings through small group instruction.
