My Project

I'm Mrs. Mendoza, a resource teacher at OES, working with the 3rd-5th graders. I wanted to share something close to my heart - the journey of our struggling readers. You know, those little champions who are giving their all to conquer the world of words.

I've been digging into the research, and it's pretty clear: a solid reading intervention program changes lives!

No fancy words, just real solutions. Reading intervention must be explicit, sequential, and multisensory. The magic happens when students get to practice, practice, practice, with a safety net of instant, corrective feedback.

Here's where you come in. We're aiming to get our hands on magnetic letter tiles for the class. These humble tiles might not look like much, but they're the keys to unlocking a whole new world for my students. With these, they can proudly showcase their word-decoding and spelling skills. So, if you're up for being a reading hero, join us in this journey to transform struggling readers into confident wordsmiths. Let's make those letters matter.
