Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This year, our school has welcomed a high number of newcomer students with little to no English language skills. With this program, students can learn the basics of the English language during their empowered reading class, a time which our school dedicates with the design to promote reading. This, however, is not something that newcomer students have been able to fully enjoy since they are still trying to access the basics of the English language.
As they master the language, they will be able to access instruction for ALL classes, consequently, achieving greater success overall.
