Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Phonics is the process of teaching students to match sounds with letters or letter groups. The more easily students can identify and manipulate sounds, the easier it will be for them to decode new words.

These phonic games will help my students break down unfamiliar words into smaller chunks to read.

They will practice writing with a pen pal .

My students will play games like Syllable Share, where students make words with the same syllable, or Syllable Scoops, where they sort words by syllables

I will have them practice phonemic awareness- where they remove sounds from words to understand their structure, or Word Family Sort, where they group words by phonetic patterns.

We will need some bins to organize all of these new materials .
