Help me give my students hands-on manipulatives and games to help them with phonics practice and a drying rack to house their phonics related artwork while it dries.
My students need practice with phonemic awareness. Since many of them couldn't go to preschool due to the COVID-19 pandemic, kindergarten has been their first experience learning about letters and sounds. Out of my 20 students, 7 are receiving extra tutoring to help them in these areas. Most of the materials requested are hands-on ways to practice phonics which is so vital to learning at this age. These materials will be part of our Word Work Center for children to use while working with a small group. Our Word Work Center activities change every 1-2 weeks progressing throughout the school year from letter recognition and letter sounds to other phonological awareness areas like sound blending and rhyming. Materials requested are Build the Letter Activity Center, Letter Recognition Instant Learning Center, Word Building Puzzles, Rhyming Sounds Magnetic Sorting Board and Unifix Cubes which will be used to be a physical representation on sound blending and segmenting. I want to provide them with fun ways to learn so that they can learn them faster and, of course, retain the information. Also, within my order I requested 2 drying racks so that students can dry any artwork created for the letter and sound of the week which is another fun and engaging way for them to learn.
