My Students
My 4th grade Inclusion Class is full of laughter and learning. We may not learn the "traditional way" but their eagerness to learn and master new skills is evident in every smile of accomplishment. My class is comprised of students with and without disabilities who enjoy reading and being read to, learning together, and most of all sharing our accomplishments.
My students work hard daily on the skills needed to improve their reading ability.
They enjoy practicing their skills with each other while involved in hands on phonics and reading activities.
My Project
When we are not reading together, my students enjoy practicing their phonics skills with concrete materials and games. We work on our reading skills daily and they would benefit from a variety of phonics manipulatives and games to improve their decoding skills.
Many of my students are struggling readers who are reading well below grade level and they need concrete manipulatives to help them learn new skills.
They would really benefit from having multiple mediums for practicing their phonics decoding skills. My students, at times, also struggle with motivation because reading is difficult for so many of them. Having creative and fun ways for them to practice their skills would help them feel excited about phonics practice and increasing their reading skills.
