Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
For this project, I am requesting a bunch of phonics and math games to vamp up my centers. Many of the phonics games are aligned to the Science of Reading philosophies. Students will have the opportunity to work alone and with others, building and decoding words.
I strongly believe that students learn best through play.
These games are not only fun and engaging, they help students to gain skills necessary to move on to first grade. Learning through play gives students the confidence to take risks and try new things. For example, the reading rods allow students to create their own sentences in a fun, hands-on way.
This project includes various math manipulatives such as Rek-en-Reks and ten-frame dice. Headphones will help students work on their independent iPad work.
I have also added a few organizational items to help keep the classroom tidy and functional such as the colorful plastic storage bins, dry erase markers and lysol spray.
