Phonics for First Grade

My students need magnetic letter tiles to make words and sentences during reading groups.

My Students

A typical day in a first grade class is filled with remarkable learning moments. First graders are curious, inquisitive, and eager to learn. The progress made in a 180 day school year is unbelievable. With so much potential, my goal as a teacher is to push my students are far as I can!

My students are from an urban school district where most of the students live below the poverty line.

Even though our school tries very hard to provide us with the materials we need, we usually don't have all the materials that would be beneficial for first graders.

My Project

These student kits will aid my students' learning all school year long. The Fundations Letter Board, Magnetic Letter Tiles, and Dry Erase Writing Tablet will allow my students to manipulate letters, words, and sentences as they navigate through the complex world of phonics. They will be used daily in their reading groups. These letters and boards will also be able to be reused year after year for all first graders to use. They are a great addition to a wonderful program that we have the benefit of using this year. I can't wait to implement them in my classroom this year.
