My Students
I work mainly with Kindergarten to 2nd grade special education students. During the year, I will work with 20-25 students. My students have autism, learning disabilities, and other health issues. COVID-19 has impacted my students as online learning has been difficult for them and reading has been impacted the most. Some students are two grade levels behind in reading.
With this project, I am requesting reading materials to help teach and assess essential reading skills.
My Project
My students have so much to learn and remember. They are often one to two grade levels behind in their phonics and comprehension. They have multiple skills to learn in order to read fluently. Their comprehension is also low since they are struggling with reading and paying attention to what they read. My students deserve to have interesting ways to learn and then to feel confident in their skills. Thank you for supporting my students to become fluent readers.
The Alphabet Sounds Teaching Tubs, readers, and other reading materials will provide good learning and will be interesting too!
