My Project

First graders have a unique sense of wonder about everything around them and an enthusiastic desire to learn and grow. Our students face challenges daily and overcome them with a sense of strength, curiosity, and pride under the mantra "practice makes progress."

As young learners, our students need daily practice in engaging, hands-on learning opportunities that support the foundational phonics skills supported by the science of reading.

Our district has required the primary teachers to shift to a new phonics curriculum than what we have used in the past. In preparation for this change, we are in need of options for independent practice that can be used in our classrooms. The gift card for Teachers Pay Teachers will allow me the ability to supplement our curriculum materials for instruction with engaging and thought-provoking independent activities that correlate with our learning intentions. Reinforcement of taught skills is an important way for teachers to ensure student retention and mastery of information. The cases of paper will allow us to make the copies in advance in preparation for the upcoming school year and a new group of students.
