My Students

This year I have the amazing opportunity to teach 18 Kindergarten students. They are very eager learners and enjoy activities in a small group setting.

We use project-based learning that incorporates state grade level standards.

Our school is Nationally, and State STEM certified. We combine a rigorous curriculum with real world experiences.

My class has a wide range of student abilities, which include gifted, ESOL, autistic, special needs and general education students. These students will grow up together and develop a great sense of compassion towards one another.

My Project

These 18 volume readers will allow the students to apply the knowledge learned during the Orton Gillingham instruction. The readers use the same pacing for sounds as the Orton Gillingham curriculum. The target words and sight words are the same which allow the students to practice the new skills while reading these stories.

The students will read motivating and engaging stories which blend with Orton Gillingham which is a multisensory, phonics-based program.

Student will learn consonant sounds, consonant-vowel-consonant words consonant digraphs, two-syllable compound words, doubling rule for ff-ll-ss-zz, sight word recognition, fluency, and comprehension. The reading series is structured for beginning and struggling readers.
