Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our students are diverse and they all strive to be "civic-minded leaders, accomplished writers, and resilient lifelong learners."
Becoming accomplished writers and lifelong learners means that students must be exposed to a variety of quality literature and engage in meaningful and engaging early reading lessons.
My Project
As an instructional coach for K-2nd and classroom teacher for TK/Kindergarten, these tools will help our youngest students practice phonics skills and early reading strategies in fun and interactive ways.
These resources will help our Transitional Kindergarten, Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade readers engage in fun and meaningful activities that will develop their reading skills.
Books such as Pete the Cat will engage young readers during Guided Reading Lessons and magnetic easels will be used for independent practice during Literacy Centers. The professional text Letter Lessons and First Words will help lead our teaching team with more effective phonics instruction.
