Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school is a Title I School located in the Bronx.
Our student population consists of diverse backgrounds, many students receive free lunch and come from low socio-economic backgrounds.
Our students are hard workers and eager to learn. Our school takes pride in building self-esteem and leadership qualities. For example, we have many students involved in a self-run Reading Ambassador Program within the school. Equipping them with diverse text will only further develop their reading skills. Please help us to further our reading skills!
My Project
Please consider helping to give my students effective phonics tools to support their instruction at school and home. The supplies will help to support their phonics instruction using phonological and phonemic awareness skills. The skills taught will be reinforced through phonics literacy stations that will allow students with a hands on approach to transfer the skills taught in small groups through independent practice. Each student will be able to receive their own personal set of materials with this project. These tools will provide differentiation for each student allowing them individualized targeted support.
