Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach a group of wonderful diverse students who are motivated and ready to learn every day! Most of my students are first time attending school. English is not their first language.
The Heggerty Phonemic Awareness Curriculum will be a great teaching tool to help them build up their phonological awareness.
This program is structured, quick, engaging, and fun exercises that preschoolers can do to help them to set this strong pre-reading foundations. The use of Heggerty allows educators to teach the science of reading to students—ensuring all classrooms provide consistent and high-quality literacy instruction. Having physical books for our students is important in providing the instruction and means for them to grow and develop in both knowledge and a love for reading.
